It's been quite awhile since I did a blog post, hasn't it? Well, first I had a little mishap with my machine. I hit a pin, which has happened a million times, but somehow this one went down into the bobbin case and created all kinds of havoc. I've hit pins before, but never with such a devastating result. In the process of becoming accordion pleated itself, said pin dislodged the bobbin case, nicked the shield to the bobbin case, and generally prevented the machine from stitching. Hence, Penelope made a quick visit to the doctor. Thankfully, the repairman was able to fix her and get her up and running for only the cost of a service call (despite the up to $250 estimate I received - whew!). And truly, she's been used hard this year, so a service call was sorely needed anyway.
And I couldn't rest until I made about 100 more...
And it's a perfect project to do when you can't do anything else...
So I made another, which I hope is more to my partner's taste. I love that I was able to use up some binding I had left over from my Outfoxed quilt, and lots of other scraps. I've been wanting to make a plus pillow. It was really fun. There may be more plus projects in my future!
So that's what's been going on around here. What have you been up to? I'd love to hear! Leave a comment and tell me about your latest project. There may be a little something in it for you. (Hint!)

Working on my disappearing nine patch quilt for my guest room bed. Love your flower garden!
ReplyDeleteHi - wondered what ou were up to- love the yellow hexis to surround the flowers. I'm doing one at the moment so might think about a colour to surround them
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about a take-along hexi project. You may get me started! I'm working on finishes, got two quilts ready to quilt and more coming along!
ReplyDeleteI have just finished a hexy mug rug for a swap. I enjoyed it so much I am going to make one for me.
ReplyDeleteThat hex quilt is beautiful!!!!!! Love the pillows too!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the PLUS pillow. I haven't made pluses yet and am itching to - I love the effect if gives! What have I been up to? Finishing stuff! Sending a quilt to a long armer (my first time) on Sunday and am now about to go cut my fabric for a Triple-Zip pouch :)
ReplyDeleteLove your GFGQ. I have a bunch of hexies made, but haven't gotten any farther. Currently, I need to get my Etsy shop stocked with baby bonnets for Easter and spring. What I really want to be doing is working on my Betsy's Closet -in stitches quilt........oh well....in good time!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright yellow you are using to border your hexies! I think I need to make some pillows as I'm always admiring them...
ReplyDeleteit's all wonderful! I love BOTH pillows, I'm sure your partner will be so happy. I just started cutting strips for ANOTHER scrappy trip along quilt (yes, I'm crazy!) I hope you are healing well
ReplyDeleteI just finished a table runner for my living room. I've had that project on my to-do list for years. Really. The runner is not as fabulous as I had hoped, but it's done and on the table. Maybe in a few years I'll make that fabulous one I'm dreaming of. Now I have some fabric for window treatments that is calling my name.
ReplyDeleteI've been handstitching for my modern medallion quilt for the stitched in color class. I think I may never be done! :O Also, I'm guessing I'm not your partner in the SSM swap because I remember writing high praises for the waterfall pillow when I saw it! I do love them both, though! You have some gorgeous work!
ReplyDeleteDoing a little mini house at the moment all by hand and making it look like an old Enlish cottage. Just finished stitching 92 little roses (french knots) around the front door and up the wall onto the thatch. Just about to put some more onto the back and then its off to my swap partner in Australia. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteSince it is too cold to go in my sewing room, I have been making hexies. I have made over half of the flowers needed to make a quilt. Can't wait to get it put together.Yours is looking very pretty!
